Creating a New Database

When SpellQuizzer is started for the first time SpellQuizzer creates a new empty SpellQuizzer database and stores it in the "Data" folder inside the application folder where SpellQuizzer was installed. The default location is:

C:\Program Files\SpellQuizzer\Data\DB.sqdb

While ordinarily there would be no need to do so you can create a new and empty SpellQuizzer database to work with. You can do so by performing the following steps:

1. Select "Create new database..." from the File menu.
   

2. When the Save As dialog screen is displayed locate the location you want the SpellQuizzer database created and specify the name you wish to use (DB.sqdb is what is normally used).
   
3. Click the Save button on the Save As dialog.

After following the above steps the a new empty SpellQuizzer database is created. From that time forward SpellQuizzer will use this new database. To switch back to the previously used database or to any other SpellQuizzer database see the Specifying the Database Location Topic.
